First Sunday in Old Town

Follow this self-guided walking tour of Old Town Chinatown, which highlights fun, games and history for kids of all ages.
  • 12 pm Start your self-guided tour at Portland Saturday Market, located under the BurnsideBridge. Look for the kids’ activities in the area near the stage.
  • 1:30 pm Take a trip back into the past of Japantown at the Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center (121NW 2nd Ave). $3 donation. Visit the gift shop with its fine selection of books for adults and kids.
  • 2:30 pm Give your child a captain’s-eye view of the Willamette River at the Oregon Maritime Museum, located on the steam tugboat “Portland” at the Waterfront Park at SW Pine St. $5 adults, $4 seniors, $3 youth, under 6 free.
  • 3:30 pm You and your kids will have a blast from the past playing arcade games from the ‘70s,‘80s & ‘90s at Ground Kontrol, 511 NW Couch.
  • 5 pm Visit the Portland Classical Chinese Garden (NW 3rd & Everett), where your ticket is good all day. $7 adults, $6 seniors, under 6 free.
  • 6 pm Enjoy a lively meal at Old Town Pizza (226 NW Davis). You may even want to tell your child about Nina, the resident ghost!
First Sunday in Old Town is a program of the Arts, Culture and History Committee of the Old Town Chinatown Neighborhood Association.
